The Taizé Community is an ecumenical monastic order in Taizé, Saône-et-Loire, Burgundy, France.
It is composed of more than one hundred brothers, from Catholic and Protestant traditions, who originate from about thirty countries across the world. The Taize Community invites people of different Christian faiths to worship together. They are well known for their contemplative hymns in many languages. . |
On June 18th, we are holding an evening serivce based upon the Taizé community's ecumenical outlook, where they encourage us to live in the spirit of kindness, simplicity and reconciliation, making St. Mary's the perfect place to celebrate and reflect.
Taizé music emphasizes simple phrases, usually lines from Psalms or other pieces of Scripture, that are repeated. It is favoured by young Christians from a wide range of denominations.
