St. Mary's, Snibston & St. Christopher's, Ellistown are closed until further notice. The situation will be reviewed on 8th February

On Tuesday 23rd March 2021 the nation will be marking the anniversary of Lockdown.
The Church of England is a key partner in the observing of this commemorative milestone.
It's not at all certain that we will be able to mark this poignant occasion with a service of our own but you may wish to access Leicester Cathedral’s ‘Service of Lament’ that evening, which can be accessed online

Please note the day.

The Revd Chris Haywood
The Bishop announces that The Revd Christopher Haywood, Curate in the Benefice of Hugglescote with Donington, Ellistown and Snibston, has been appointed as Vicar of the Benefice of The Lee and the Benefice of Hawridge with Cholesbury and St Leonards in the Diocese of Oxford.
The  licencing will be on Thursday 29th April 2021 at 7.30 PM at St. John the Baptist Church, The Lee, Buckinghamshire.  It is hoped the licencing will be in person with a congregation, as restrictions allow.

JOIN US IN PRAYER
every day in Lent

"The life of a monk," wrote St Benedict, "ought to be a continuous Lent." But these last twelve months have been a continuous Lent for all of us, whether monk or not. So how do we engage creatively, freshly and positively with this new Lenten season?
Perhaps by journeying through Lent together. Here at Launde we want to offer you resources and opportunities for prayer, reflection and spiritual growth that draw you into community with others.
Every day from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday we’re providing a brief daily service of worship and prayer as part of our Launde@Home programme (the services can be listened to online or downloaded) so you can
join us - and hundreds of others - in day by day prayer. On Ash Wednesday and on each Sunday we’re also offering a short reflection on the Gospel reading for the day.
And you can come alongside others at any of our online retreats:
Curious Contemplative (a retreat for Lent), Love's Struggle, Love's Renewal (over the Easter weekend) and Revealing the Resurrection (in Easter Week).
Plus we've got an ever expanding library of past retreat talks and other resources available, all free. Why not check out our website today?

Lent starts this Wednesday, Ash Wednesday. We've signed up for the Church of England's #LiveLent reflection emails, which begin on Ash Wednesday (17 February) and wanted to share them with you. At this time when we are unable to meet at church for spiritual nourishment we invite you to sign up for the #livelent reflections on the Church of England's website:
https://www.churchofengland.org/sign-up.
Other resources which you may like to use include Paul Williams’ ‘Easter the Greatest News’, which can be ordered from here for £2.99: https://www.10ofthose.com/uk/products/27166/easter-the-greatest-news

OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO……..

Sundays at 10am. Every Sunday at 10am on the @DioceseofLeicester Facebook page or the Diocese of Leicester Youtube channel there will be a short pre-recorded video providing an opportunity to engage with the Gospel reading of the day. There will be simple prayers, a reading, a brief devotional homily and a creative interpretation of the Bible story by an artist, and a closing blessing. Just follow the Diocese of Leicester Facebook page and join with others around our diocese in experiencing God’s word in a slightly different way.

Daily Offices with the Community of the Tree of Life. Keep an eye out for details of the new monastic community's own Daily Office, which will be livestreaming on their @LeicTreeofLife Facebook page every week day (Mon-Fri). There will be a shortened morning, noon and night-time version from members of the Community who will provide a rich opportunity for us to punctuate our day with prayer, knowing that we’re doing so in company with other Christians from around the city and county.

Jacob's Ladder and Coffee and Chat
will resume as soon as it is feasible.
